EGOCMS comprehensively supports accessibility and already fulfils many requirements in accordance with current standards(see EGOCMS Accessibility). Nevertheless, the realisation of accessibility always depends on individual design and content adaptations.

What does EGOTEC AG's basic accessibility check involve?

The check

  • Testing of the central pages of the website in accordance with the requirements of the Disability Equality Act (BGG), BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.2 (Level A and AA)
  • Use of automated testing tools (EGOCMS Barrier Checker, Lighthouse) and random manual checks
  • Duration: 24 hours total effort (approx. 3 PT)

If there are several clients, the effort increases accordingly. However, clients that use the same template, skin or theme require less effort.

The number of blocks used in the design and their complexity must also be taken into account.

Immediate correction of minor deviations

  • Minor deviations identified during the check are corrected immediately. This effort is included in the respective audit variants (also in the comprehensive audit).
  • For major adjustments, a separate agreement is reached and a separate offer is made.

Report

  • Once the analysis has been completed and any adjustments have been made, a corresponding audit report will be prepared.
  • This can be published on the website.

Guarantee of accessibility

  • EGOTEC AG can only give a binding assurance of accessibility in accordance with the BGG after a comprehensive test.
  • In the case of a basic test, we confirm that the basic test has been carried out.
  • This confirmation can be published on the respective website.

Timetable

The basic test is carried out in three phases:

  • Phase 1: Preparation (4h)
    • Selection and definition of the pages to be tested (in consultation with the customer).
    • Setting up the test tools (EGOCMS Barrier Checker, Lighthouse).
  • Phase 2: Execution of the test (16h)
    • Automated check with EGOCMS Barrier Checker and Lighthouse.
    • Manual spot check of central pages.
    • Documentation of the results.
    • Correction of minor deviations (immediate implementation as part of the basic check).
  • Phase 3: Finalisation and report (4h)
    • Creation of a short test report with an overview of the barriers found.
    • Recommendations for further measures to achieve complete accessibility.
    • Provision of the report.
